From Humble Beginnings
Our Director, Kennedy Weldemariam, migrated to Australia in 2003 from Ethiopia with a few dollars and a big aspiration to make a difference. Through hard work, dedication, and a string of odd jobs, he supported his first year of study toward a Master in Professional Accounting.
His talent didn’t go unnoticed for long. Kennedy went on to work as Enterprise Manager for the Nyangatjatjara Council, Financial Manager for Katherine West NT Health Services, CFO of GBS Gold Australia (a large mining company in the Northern Territory), and Practice Manager for Zone Management Accounting Services — one of the big four firms in the NT.
After collecting broad experience across corporate and tax practices, he decided it was time to share his wealth of knowledge with small business owners directly. That decision led to the founding of Kennedy Tax and Business Services in 2010.
Ever since, the client base and the team have continued to grow, built on a simple foundation followed every single day: honesty and transparency.

Fana assisted me a few months ago with my tax return. She was very helpful in explaining the process and providing me advice on how to maximise my return. She also did not charge me additional for coming back to provide extra documents. Overall, Fana was very capable and I would recommend her and KTBS in general!
